Brendan Johnson was born in Vermillion, South Dakota. He attended the University of South Dakota where he was selected to become a Harry S. Truman National Scholar. After college, he worked briefly for Vice-President Al Gore. Mr. Johnson graduated from University of Virginia School of Law. At the University of Virginia, he served as president of the Student Bar Association and was a member of the prestigious Raven Honor Society. After graduating from law school, Mr. Johnson returned to South Dakota where he served as a law clerk for United States District Court Judge Karen Schreier. After completing his clerkship, Mr. Johnson worked on United States Senator Tim Johnson's successful re-election campaign. Mr. Johnson served as a Deputy State's Attorney in Minnehaha County from 2003-2005. Later in 2005, he became an associate at Johnson, Heidepriem, Miner, Marlow and Janklow. Brendan Johnson became a partner at this law firm in 2006. His practice focuses on civil litigation. Mr. Johnson is married to Dr. Jana Johnson and they have two children (Sutton and Cooper).
